This comprehensive magnet program provides high school students with a deep understanding of the science behind exercise and its impact on human health and performance. Students will explore the biological foundations of exercise, including anatomy, physiology, and nutrition, and examine the role of exercise in disease prevention and mental wellness. They will also gain hands-on experience in various exercise modalities, including yoga for athletes, strength training, and sports officiating. Internships provide hands-on, work-based learning experiences for students in their areas of career or academic interest. Students must complete all requirements and activities outlined in the Personal Fitness Trainer Internship Course Student Handbook in order to receive one Internship course unit of credit. | |||
