At the CMS Board of Education meeting on July 13, 2021, Tonya Faison was named the principal at the Virtual Middle School. Faison has been the principal at James Martin Middle since 2014. She was the principal at Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences from 2013 to 2014. During her time in Wayne County Public Schools, Faison was a principal at Goldsboro High from 2011 to 2013, a career and technical education instructional management coordinator from 2009 to 2011, assistant principal at Spring Creek Elementary from 2007 to 2009 and at Norwayne Middle from 2005 to 2007, and a teacher at Goldsboro High from 1998 to 2005.
Faison earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro. She earned her master’s and advanced degree in educational leadership at East Carolina University, Greenville.
